Visit the Hawkins Writing Center for free writing tutorials afternoons and evenings on Sundays through Thursdays.

Our trained peer tutors work with you at any stage of the writing process—brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing—to strengthen your writing skills. Appointments are strongly recommended, although you’re welcome to stop in if tutors are free. You can also use the Writing Center as a quiet study space.

Many departments at Hillsdale College provide peer tutors. We can help you find these and other free resources to help your semester run smoothly. If you want one-on-one help beyond this, we offer a limited number of tutor referrals. Students and tutors work out meeting times and compensation individually.

Short events during the first weeks of the semester and beyond help you jump in to Hillsdale’s community of learners. Discover practical academic strategies for time management, study skills, and Chicago Manual of Style formatting. These events will introduce you to older students and faculty who will help you get involved in the day-to-day intellectual life of the College.
