Insurance and Emergency Contact Information

Hillsdale College requires that each student be covered under a health insurance plan. All students (including athletes*) must submit proof of health insurance on or before classes begin on Wednesday, August 23rd. Failure to do so will prevent students from attending classes. We recommend that students still carry a hard copy of their insurance information in case it is needed sometime during the academic year. 

Proof of health insurance coverage can be in the form of: 

  • Submitting insurance information online (see below), or 

  • A completed waiver signed by both the student and parent(s). 

Submitting your proof of insurance online:

  • Students should log into their Hillsdale account via my.hillsdale.edu 

  • Select the insurance and emergency contact information link within “Applications” on the left-hand side of screen.

  • Click “Save,” even if no changes are made. 

Students not covered by health insurance:

  • Parents may request an insurance waiver form by calling the deans' offices before final validation.

Student Athletes

All athletes MUST submit proof of health insurance online for the appropriate dean’s office before final registration. No exceptions will be made. 

This proof of health insurance coverage is separate from the Hillsdale College athletic accident policy provided by the Athletic Department. 

Student-athletes should contact Healthcare Administrator Lynne Neukom at (517) 607-3157 if they have questions regarding any athletic injury coverage.
