New Student Account Information

As an incoming student, you will have access to your Hillsdale College user account. Your user account’s username and password will grant you access to any and all of the available electronic services offered by Hillsdale College. These include, but are not limited to: email, Canvas, printing, utilizing campus computers, and connecting to the campus network.

New Student Account Activation

  • Once activated, your Username and Password will grant you access to your Hillsdale College e-mail account. Your Hillsdale College e-mail address will be: Username@hillsdale.edu

    Upon first logging into the Hillsdale College Network on campus, you will be required to change your password. We recommend using a passphrase with at least 15 characters. Please note that your username and password are confidential and should NOT be shared with anyone.

  • After changing your password, follow the prompts to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA). Similar to what you may experience with online banking, the MFA process sends a text when an attempt is made to log in to your email account from an off-campus computer. This process helps prevent your email from being accessed by someone other than you.

    Finally, to assist in case you forget your password, we encourage you to set up Self-Service Password Recovery. More information can be found at: http://account.hillsdale.edu/
